My RottiesI had to show off my 2 Rotties before I get on to business. Kaulena and Cimba in this picture are pure Rotties. At the time we took these pictures Kaulena was 12 weeks and Cimba 9 weeks old. Kaulena is now 6 months old and both dogs will be going to obedience training starting the 20th of this month.

Here’s my Monday and Tuesday morning workout. Monday morning I woke up at 06:00AM and started my treadmill workout at 06:20. Both mornings was an excellent workout and I enjoyed it. In fact I had my 6 month old rottie watching me and kept trying to jump on the treadmill to walk with me. She might have got use to walking with me because normally I would do my morning walk around the neighborhood. All and all it was nice. My stats for the 2 days are lised below.

Monday Workout: 01/07/2008

Time: 18.56
speed: 3.3
Distance: 1.003
Calories: 119.6
Carbs: 14.9
Incline: 2.0

Tuesday Workout: 01/08/2008

Time: 18.16
speed: 3.5
Distance: 1.003
Calories: 118.8
Carbs: 14.8
Incline: 2.0

My times are getting a little better and I’m trying to bring my mile under 15 minutes by the end of this month. If I can do this then for the month of February, my plans are to start my speed at 3.0 and walk for 45 minutes in the morning and 45 minutes in the evening after work.

I haven’t been posting my diet but I have been watching what I eat. I normally have a protein shake for breakfast with a tall glass of ice water and for lunch a tossed salad with brioled chicken strips and a little dressing. Dinner would be a small tossed green salad with either chicken or steak. I stopped eating rice all together. I had a couple of monster drinks which I know I should stop but it’s way less than I’ve been drinking. I’ll go cold turkey soon.

Walking or Jogging?

ScaleWalking might be one of the most underestimated of all exercise. It might be out of the category of extreme sports but none the less you can have a nice workout by walking. Several extra steps per minute will do the job. What I’m talking about is not your normal pace of walking but picking up the pace a little does a world of difference while doing your morning or evening workout. You must have a good pair of sneakers to even start your walk. Read more
