The incredible, powerful and mesmerising voice of a mobile phone salesman from South Wales, Paul Potts has reached and touched the hearts of millions since winning Britains hot new talent show ” Britains Got Talent”. Watched by well over 16 million people in the finals, his well amplified beautiful rendition of Puccini’s Nessun Dorma shocked the audience and judges, leaving many in tears. Paul Pott’s an excellent story of Overnight Success!
Paul’s stunning Nessun Dorma and the equally captivating Time To Say Goodbye (Con Te Partiro), which he sang in the semi final of Britain’s Got Talent, feature on his debut album alongside welcome surprises like a Spanish version of My Way, which Paul admits was one of his more challenging choices and a truly extraordinary, goosebump-inducing rendition of REM’s Everybody Hurts sung in Italian (Ognuno Soffre).
“Many of the songs I have chosen have a special place in my heart because of the memories attached to them, such as the hymn Jerusalem which was the first solo I ever did as a young boy treble,’ says Paul. “Others I’ve selected simply because I love them and they touch me in some way, like the haunting Cavatina (the theme from the film The Deerhunter), which has such an beautiful melody.
“To have been given the opportunity to make an album of the songs I adore is such an honour. Music has been my passion throughout my life and to have the chance to share that is just incredible.
